Options for Additional Days
| Option | Description |
| Personal Fish Charter | If fishing whets your appetite, you are in your element, as this is the home of the King George Whiting which just may encourage you to stay an extra night for a personal fish charter.
Pound for pound, whiting is a magnificent fighting fish; we also target snapper, trevally, salmon, flathead, sand crabs and many other species in these beautiful waters aboard a very comfortable fishing boat with all your tackle and bait provided. |
| Swimming with Sea Lions and Dolphins | Join Bairds Bay Ocean Eco Experiences for swimming with the sea lions off Jones Island, a very short steam aboard the 12m Investigator.
Experiencing sea lions in their natural environment is unforgettable – these fast, agile and playful creatures thrive on interaction with humans. Along with diving with the Great White Sharks and swimming with farmed tuna, this charming experience is rated as one of the “must do” activities in Australia. Following the encounter, the Investigator pulls out into deeper waters, where you have the chance to swim with the resident dolphins. Powerful and lightning-fast, these animals often come so close to you that you can hear their high-pitched chatter. On the return to the beach of Baird Bay, we have lunch before we departing for Pt Lincoln, but we have a few stops to make along the way. A short drive away is the Murphy’s Haystacks. These rocks are ancient wind-worn granite inselbergs, purported to be over 1500 million years old. The unique outcrop of pink granite boulders is a delight for photographers. The Talia caves are another fascinating attraction. Nature’s elements of sea and wind have etched patterns through time on their limestone roofs, whilst the surf washes the rocks edging the caves producing another spectacular scene of color and the wonderful force of the Southern Ocean. |
| Shark Diving | If you’re up to the most extreme and exhilarating ocean interaction with the world’s most feared predator of the sea, then this is the day you’ve been waiting for!
Honed by millions of years of evolution, the Great White Shark is one of the most graceful and awe-inspiring fish in the sea. Absolutely nothing will prepare you for your first encounter with this magnificent specimen in its natural environment. We leave the Marina Hotel in Pt. Lincoln at 7am and head for the home of the Great Whites, the Neptune Islands, accompanied by pods of dolphins aboard the very comfortable 65 foot Calypso Star. Once at the Islands, the action begins as sharks up to 18 ft start to arrive. Each person will experience 45 minutes of cage viewing, face to face, with the amazing Great Whites through crystal clear waters. Cameras are a must, as the action from the fly bridge and the deck is absolutely fantastic! We arrive back in Lincoln around 7pm where we dine in and stay for the evening. |
