Sealover’s Dream
Day 1 – Boston Bay Bluefins
Your own personal Goin’ Off Safaris guide will meet you at the Pt Lincoln Airport and take you for the short drive into the seafood capital of Australia, Pt Lincoln.
We provide a quick breakfast whilst waiting to board the Calypso Lady for the short steam to a farmed tuna cage in the glistening waters of Boston Bay – one of the world’s largest protected harbours (3 times the size of Sydney Harbour).
Here, in a world’s first and exclusive to Pt. Lincoln, you will enjoy the opportunity to swim with, feed and photograph these Blue Rockets, the mighty Blue Fin Tuna!
From here, we continue on to one of the more stunning estuaries in Australia and home to some of the nation’s finest oysters, Coffin Bay, where we stay for the next 2 nights.
Settle into your waterfront accommodation and enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the Bay, rise to the challenge of mini golf, kayak around the gorgeous bay or just relax and prepare for a seafood feast cooked for you whilst the sun sets across the water.
Day 2 – Southern Ocean
Wake up with the pelicans at your doorstep and enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast before taking a short drive north to explore the hidden secrets of the coastline.
The journey takes in the area’s productive farm lands and an ever-changing landscape. On arrival at our coastal destination, you can embark on a host of activities at your leisure. Sandboard on some towering dunes, snorkel amongst an abundance of marine life in safe and clear rock pools, beachcomb the white, footprint-free sandy beaches, fish from the beach for the hungry and fighting salmon, explore the rock pools or hit the waves, body surfing in the pristine clear waters of the Great Southern Ocean.
We finish the day by visiting the Cummings Monument, with spectacular uninterrupted views across the rugged cliff tops of the Great Australian Bight, and a glimpse of the family of osprey that nests on a craggy pinnacle adjacent to the lookout.
Put your feet up on returning to Coffin Bay, where another feast is prepared as you reflect on another sensational sunset.
Day 3 – Coffin Bay Dolphins and Oysters
This morning, we board the Coffin Bay Explorer for a 3 hour tour, which gives you the history of Coffins and a magnificent insight into the town’s best known acquisition, the oyster industry.
You will tour the beautiful estuaries around the bay and see some amazing scenic views of the township and the Coffin Bay Peninsula. Pods of dolphins almost invariably gather around the bow of the Explorer catamaran and guide us to a farmed commercial oyster lease, where you have the opportunity to taste the delicious product fresh from the racks held in the Little Douglas waterways.
We then motor around Yangi Bay, Black Springs and other sheltered beaches and camping grounds whilst listening to outstanding commentary with the cameras ready for an abundance of bird life, dolphins and the New Zealand fur seal.
After lunch and back on land, we take a short drive to the Coffin Bay peninsula, an area of outstanding beauty and home to important species of flora and fauna. Take a walk on one of many walking trails, and pause on the beach to soak up the outstanding views before we return to the Pt Lincoln airport for your departure.
